The Diocese of Our Lady encompasses 10 counties and 8,000 square miles in the state of Texas. We began as a misson parish founded by missionary priests of the Franciscan Brothers in 1887. Since our founding, we now serve 48 parishes, missions, and chapels with more than 140,000 registered Catholics.
Although the journey may have been rough at times, our roots have been strong, and we have grown and worked to create a vibrant community of faith. Through the faithful leadership of Bishop Arturo Sanchez, our ministries and services continue to expand to serve the growing needs of the people of the diocese and the surrounding communities.
We want to welcome you to the Diocese of Our Lady, and we hope you find a home here where you can worship, grow in your faith, and feel right at home in our parish communities. Each person has a gift and a faith journey, and Our Lady seeks ways to help each other cultivate both, renew our lives for the better, and to discover a deeper love for our Lord. We believe you can do that here in the Diocese of Our Lady!
We seek to promote the gospel and love of Jesus Christ through service and formation, and to evangelize to our community, our families, and the greater Church.
